Most vehicle-history affiliate programmes pay a percentage of a €25–40 report. That sounds generous until you look at what converts. Automano’s report is €7.90, the lowest-priced pan-European vehicle history report on the market, and the programme pays 40% of gross on every sale — €3.16 per report — on a 60-day last-touch cookie.

The honest maths against a €30 programme

A 25% commission on a €29.99 report pays €7.50 per sale. Ours pays €3.16. Per sale, theirs wins.

Per reader, the picture usually reverses. A buyer deciding between three used cars will pay €7.90 to screen one without thinking about it; asking the same person for €30–37 per car is a different decision, and most of them close the tab. The conversion gap between those two prices is, in our experience, larger than the commission gap.

We are not going to claim a number for your audience because we do not know your audience. Put both links on the same article for a month and compare earnings per visitor. If ours loses, drop it.

Who this works for

  • Used-car buying guides and comparison sites — the reader is already deciding; a €7.90 pre-screen is the natural next click.
  • Import and cross-border content — German-car-to-Poland, Belgium-to-France, UK-import guides. National free registers stop at the border; that is exactly the case a paid report covers.
  • Creators reviewing cars or explaining paperwork — a named discount code turns a mention into a trackable offer.
  • Garages and inspection services — a pre-purchase VIN check before the physical inspection, earning on both.

What Automano actually sells (so you can describe it accurately)

A free, unlimited VIN decoder with no signup — specification, year, engine, manufacturer recalls. Then a €7.90 Essentiel report built on official registers: HistoVec (France), KBA records and Tachocheck (Germany), DVLA and MOT history (UK), RDW (Netherlands), CEPiK (Poland), DGT (Spain), NHTSA (US), plus EU safety recalls. It does not include insurance-claim damage diagrams or auction photographs; if your reader’s priority is hidden accident repair on an expensive car, say so and point them at a provider that has it.

Accurate descriptions convert better and refund less, and refunds come out of both our margins.
